ST.  CECILIA SCHOOL IN ROCKAWAY PLANS OPEN HOUSE TO CELEBRATE CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
St. Cecilia School in Rockaway announced today that faculty and students will launch their annual Catholic Schools Week celebration by hosting an open house on Sunday, January 29^th, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Open House event will include tours of classrooms and other facilities and an opportunity to meet the faculty and principal and learn about St. Cecilia School’s offerings for students and families. All are welcome and light refreshments will be served. Additional events and activities for students will take place during the week of January 30^th at the school.

Saint Cecilia School is a Catholic elementary school located in Rockaway, New Jersey. Saint Cecilia first opened its doors in September of 1958 and continues to foster a tradition of academic excellence.

The Sisters of Christian Charity, international educators, have directed our parish school since its inception. In addition to our professional staff of state certified teachers and two parish priests, our adjunct staff includes a foreign language teacher, art and music teachers, computer instructor, librarian, physical education teacher, five primary aides, school secretary, school nurse, and school custodian.

My name is Annie Mitchell and I am the new principal of St. Cecilia School.  I am very excited to take on this leadership role at this wonderful school.  I have found St. Cecilia to be a very welcoming community.  Along with Fr. Zig, the teachers, staff, parents, and children of St. Cecilia School have immediately made me feel at home and I am very grateful to all of them for that.  I am very excited to be here and am looking forward to a wonderful school year.
