Second Grade Information

Religion     -      Very special   -     review lessons

                            Missions - encourage them to share

                            Sacrament of Reconciliation  -  January

                            Sacrament of Holy Eucharist  -  May

                            Attend all meetings

                            Practice their prayers and ATTEND MASS!

Homework   -  Sheet will be given out every Monday. Keep the Homework sheet in the folder!

                            1. Children do it. Help them when necessary.

                            2. You correct it.

                            3. You initial it.

                            4. They return it.

                            5. I check to be sure they've done it and you've signed it.

                            6. They take it home. I don't mark or collect it.

                            7. We talk about any problems.

                            8. Practice math facts and read EVERY DAY!

Folders             Need only one at a time -  it travels

                            Left side comes out  -  right side stays in.

                            Review each day with your child.  Take nothing out without asking them.

                            It's their  responsibility   not   yours.

Names               Use a Sharpie laundry marker.  Pen washes out quickly.

                            Put names on everything - especially sweaters and sweats - glass cases included.

Absence            Call the office to report their absence.

                            Send an excuse note upon their return.

Make - up - work    I'll fill out a paper listing missing work. It will be ready for pick up at the office at 2:10.

                            Complete all work as soon as possible. Reading books won't be sent home.

Snack                HEALTHY  -  NO SUGAR OR CANDY!  Please put in an extra paper towel to use as a placemat.

                            Please peel all oranges and grapefruits at home and put them in a zip lock or container.

                            No glass bottles please.

Money                Should come in a labeled envelope with a name and purpose written on it.

TV                        Limit TV and computer games. They need outside play. Go to bed by   8:00.

Responsibility        Have your child pack their snack and backpack, sharpen pencils, and get                                                                            things   together.   You  check it.  Jobs at home are important.

Book Clubs        Checks only made out to the company involved.

Birthdays            If you would like, your child may bring in a special snack to school on their birthday.

                              Summer birthdays can be celebrated as  a  six  month  birthday. Aug. 15 / Feb.15.

                              Invitations  can't be passed out in school unless the whole class or all of the girls or boys are 

                              invited.  Feelings are hurt too easily.

Second grade is hard work. Please help your child to work hard. No toys in school!
