“ Things to Know"
Classroom Expectations:
Please be RESPECTFUL and RESPONSIBLE. Students are expected to behave respectfully in the classroom and throughout the school. They should demonstrate kindness and integrity in their daily lives. Students are also expected to be responsible for their schoolwork; they need to listen in class, actively participate in class discussions, and complete all classroom assignments to the best of their abilities.
Homework:
Homework will be posted on the website. Homework grades are figured into a student’s academic grade; 10% will be deducted for each day that an assignment is late.
8th Grade Activities:
WELCOME BACK! Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome back to another great year at St. Cecilia’s School! I truly look forward to working with all of you to make the 2011-2012 school year a great one.
My name is Mrs. McNamara, and I am the new 8th Grade homeroom teacher. I will be teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade applied writing, grammar and vocabulary, as well as, 8th grade religion. I have 10 years of teaching experience – 7 years at St. Mary’s School in Wharton (Kindergarten teacher) and 3 years in the Hopatcong School District (Substitute teacher/Middle School Aide). I have two children – Colleen (17 yrs old, high school senior) and Patrick (15 yrs old, high school sophomore). I have been married to my husband, Jim, for 20 years. I have 3 dogs (Bailey, Max and Lucky) and 2 guinea pigs (Caramel Cream and Oreo). I tell you all of this because my family is a part of me and I often reference them in class.
We all need to work together to make this a fantastic year – teacher, students and parents. Communication is key in a flourishing school/home relationship. I will keep you posted on what is happening via this website and email. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email if you have any questions. Email (

) is preferable because it is more readily accessible throughout the day, and it can even be checked from home. I will check it at least once in the evening. Thank you. God Bless you. I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely, Mrs. McNamara
