A note from the director...

A new world. Filled with beauty and hope. A dream come true for hundreds of people leaving a land where freedom was just another word that held no meaning. Not knowing what to expect and bringing with them, their customs and beliefs, hundreds of people started the building of our great nation, but there were people here. People who have lived on this soil for hundreds of years. People who dressed differently and had a different skin color than the people of England, and this frightened them. It frightened them because they couldn't see past the color of their skin, the clothes that they wore, or the songs that they sang, but a ten year old girl could. She had the insight to see that it doesn't matter what the color of your skin is, but it is what is in your heart that counts. Spirit of Mother Earth sings to us:

 

Look inside, your heart will show you,

Listen closely to your dreams,

 

A man's just a man whether his skin's dark or light,

Our blood is the same whether we're red, black or white,

And the earth is the earth, no matter which way we go,

Your heart is the window to the truth and the heart always knows.

In doing these shows,  we have so many people with different ideas and different ways of doing things. We may not always see things eye to eye, but in the end we all want the same thing, a good show! May we always look inside our hearts and not make judgments on others because of differences we can't understand.
